Executive Director
Medeana Moussa

Mother, entrepreneur and community builder. Medeana grew up in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and then continued her education at the University of Calgary graduating with a Commerce degree. She started her career in Toronto working in marketing, communications and government relations prior to returning to Calgary to start a business that she grew for 10 years. Medeana has four children who all attend public school in Calgary and wants to engage with other concerned citizens on the urgent issues facing public schools in our province. Medeana is proud to work with Support Our Students Alberta to advocate for equal access to a quality education for ALL children.

Wing Li (she/her)

Wing grew up just outside of Edmonton and attended K-12 public schools in Stony Plain, Alberta. She attended the University of Alberta, graduating with a BSc in Psychology & Biology. She then moved to southern Alberta to pursue graduate academic training. She holds an MSc and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge. She also currently works with elementary reading intervention at her community public school, has taught at the post-secondary level, and has worked with science education and knowledge translation initiatives. Her community work focuses on organizing a movement for a truly universally accessible public education system for all students from a structural societal justice lens.​

​Heather Ganshorn

​Heather Ganshorn grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she attended public schools. She has a BA in Journalism and Communications from the University of Regina, and a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Alberta. She has several years’ experience as a health sciences and academic librarian, supporting research in several settings. With two school-age children, she became concerned about issues such as privatization and standardized testing, and committed to advocating for a strong public education system with adequate supports for all children.  ​
Support Our Students Alberta is a non-partisan public education advocacy organization with chapters across Alberta. We are run by passionate volunteers and community donations.
